Hezbollah attacked Israel with drones

At least six people were hospitalized after a drone strike by Lebanese Hezbollah in northern Israel on Tuesday. Four were injured by shrapnel, and two were hospitalized due to panic reactions, reports a Times of Israel.

Hezbollah also launched a drone attack against Israel on Monday. The intervention of the Lebanese military organization could already be guessed by Sunday, after the leaders of Iran and Hezbollah promised revenge for the murder of the top military commander of Hezbollah, Fuad Sukr, and the political leader of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh.

On Monday, Sergei Shoigu, the secretary of the Russian Security Council, arrived in Tehran to negotiate with Iranian President Masoud Pessheskian. Cooperation between Iran and Russia is also indicated by the fact that Iran in February sent ballistic missiles to the Russians. Last Friday, Russia also condemned the killing of the leaders of Hezbollah and Hamas, and Shoigu said at the time that this could have dangerous consequences.

Israel claimed responsibility for the attack in Beirut and the killing of Fuad Sukr. Haniye’s murder was not acknowledged, but it is widely believed that Israel was also behind this attack.

The US position is to defend Israel in the event of an attack. Jonathan Finer, the White House’s national security adviser, said on Sunday that the US and Israel are preparing for all possible outcomes, but the White House’s main goal is to defuse tempers and conflicts in the region.

Meanwhile, the Times of Israel reports, ultra-Orthodox extremist protesters breached the army base in Tel Hasomer, jumping over the fence to prevent the conscription of yeshiva students into Israel’s IDF. Due to rising tensions, Japan is also asking its citizens not to travel to Israel.

According to broadcaster Kan, the only corridor through which humanitarian aid can reach the southern part of Gaza has been closed, probably because of the fighting in the area. The armed unit of Hamas announced that they attacked an Israeli tank in the area.
