The Crossfit Games are rocked by a tragedy.

Lazar Dukic drowned during the races in Texas.

“We are devastated”the organizer signs X.

The Serbian participant disappeared under the water towards the end of the swimming session.

Then both the other contestants and the audience were asked to leave the place. Later, the organizer confirmed that one person had died.

Lazar Dukic turned 28.

“Deeply saddened”

“We are deeply saddened by the death of a Crossfit Games competitor”writes the organization and announces that the rest of today’s competitions are cancelled.

“The well-being of the contestants is our highest priority”, one writes.

According to ABC The body was found about an hour after the accident. It was then transported from Marine Creek Lake to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner and identified.

The Swede: “Unreal”

The tragedy occurred on the first day of the races in Fort Worth in Texas, USA.

Several Swedes are participating – including Lisa Andersson, who represented Sweden in ski cross at the Olympics, and Alexander Elebro.

“Unreal. We’ll see how the weekend continues, but all competition is canceled today. Remember to take care of each other out there”writes Elebro on Instagram.

The Crossfit Games are scheduled to run until Sunday, August 11. According to ABC, the organization will make a decision on the continuation later on Thursday, local time.

It is an annual competition where the participants are faced with a bunch of different physical challenges. In addition to running and swimming, this can include cycling and weightlifting.

Winners receive prize money and, according to the organizing organization, can title themselves “Fittest on Earth” – the most fit on earth.
