The governor of the city province of Kinshasa, Daniel Bumba Lubaki, is preparing to launch in the coming days the “coup de poing” operation with the aim of ridding Kinshasa of garbage and other waste, in order to make it healthy, as part of his action program called “Kinshasa Ezo Bonga”.
It is in this context that he was received this Friday, August 9, 2024 by the Chief of Staff of the FARDC, Army General Christian Tshiwewe. During this meeting, the first citizen of the city requested the assistance of the military engineers of the FARDC for the success of this operation which according to him must mark “positively” the beginning of his mandate.
“It was to come and ask for the support of the army in the operations that we are going to carry out on the city of Kinshasa, understand that Kinshasa today is in the KO we think that the support of the army is necessary at this stage, we all know that in major missions of the army in peacetime it has the adequate manpower to be able to support us in the realization of certain expected things and there it was precisely the opportunity to pin down the major shock operation that we are going to carry out which will consist of cleaning our rivers, cleaning Kinshasa, desanding today Kinshasa has more than 3 million 420 thousand tons of waste which is why we are asking the army to support us with this military engineering corps, the national service will be able to help us move forward, there are questions of sanitation, traffic jams, questions of supervision and the reintegration of youth and delinquency” explained Daniel Bumba Lubaki after discussion with Christian Tshiwewe at the headquarters of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo located at the “Lieutenant-colonel Kokolo” camp
Gentiny Ngobila Mbaka’s successor at the head of the provincial city of Kinshasa said he was satisfied with the reaction of the number one of the FARDC who agreed to accompany him in order to provide the city of Kinshasa, seat of the country’s institutions, with its most beautiful dress.
We are very happy because the army is very supportive and we are also considering further as it is done in other countries where the army supports to be able to establish protocols of agreement and also see as far as possible if the central government can support us to be able to raise this city which is still the mirror of this country” indicated Daniel Bumba Lubaki
Well before this meeting, Daniel Bumba Lubaki has been holding numerous meetings with citizen organizations and other personalities to request support and assistance for the “coup de poing” operation. Very recently, religious denominations have reassured their support for Governor Daniel Bumba regarding the sanitation of the city of Kinshasa.
