Considered one of the main fairs for products and services for hygiene, cleaning and environmental conservation in Latin America, Higiexpoin its 28th edition, will take place on August 13, 14 and 15, at São Paulo Expo, with new exhibitors, products and technologies. Held by the Brazilian Association of the Professional Cleaning Market (Abralimp), the fair has more than 300 national and international brands and is expected to have over 16,000 visitors. In this edition, the event has prepared several new features focused on ESG and technologies focused on the cleaning sector.

“The professional cleaning market moves around R$100 billion a year, generates more than 1 million jobs and is made up of around 63 thousand companies, including service providers, manufacturers and distributors of machines, equipment, disposables, PPE, among others”, informs Nathalia Ueno, president of Abralimp.

During the fair, innovations and launches from the entire professional cleaning chain for institutional environments (hotels, shopping centers, supermarkets, hospitals, educational institutions, commercial and residential condominiums, commerce, industries, among others) will be presented. Among the novelties, cleaning equipment, robots, software, drones, AI, chemical products and sustainable solutions stand out.

Sustainability

One of the fair’s standout initiatives is the journey to preserve biomes, which consists of offsetting each square meter of stand space with one square meter of standing forest. The initiative, in partnership with the company We Stand, will be developed through biocredits. With BioCredits per m², Higiexpo exhibitors will allocate resources to regenerate biomes in the Amazon and the Atlantic Forest. Abralimp will also offset common areas, and visitors can purchase biocredits and contribute to the action. Everything will take place in the Sustainable Arena space, which will also bring together NGOs such as Teto and G10 Favelas, which will receive, after the fair, materials and furniture used by exhibitors in their stands to be donated to families in vulnerable situations.

The NGOs Ohquideia and Tampinhas que Curam are the other entities that will be at the Sustainable Arena. While the first works to rescue discarded orchids, which are later distributed in lectures and workshops, creating mini-orchid gardens in the spaces of partners, the second will collect plastic bottle caps and beverage can tabs donated by Higiexpo visitors.

Due to its sustainability actions, this edition of the Higiexpo fair won the Carbon B Seal, which recognizes events that promote the preservation of biomes and the reduction of waste.

Also as an attraction at the Arena Sustentável stand, Commander Hamilton Alves da Rocha, known for his pioneering helicopter coverage for several TV stations, will be signing the book “The 50 Million Race I Won” on August 14th at 4:00 p.m., which tells his inspiring story and life philosophy. Hamilton currently dedicates part of his time and experience to educational projects.

Free courses and lectures

The fair has an extensive content grid for visitors, distributed across different areas of São Paulo Expo. There will be more than 65 hours of content in which participants will have the opportunity to delve deeper into different topics related to the professional cleaning sector. In the “Yellow Knowledge Area”, the exhibitors themselves will share knowledge about market needs, procedures, best practices and the latest in products and services.

In the area of green knowledge, the topics are about sustainability, people development, technical processes, legislation, the future of the cleaning market, among others. In parallel, there will be mini-courses in the Blue Knowledge Area, taught by the Uniabralimp Foundation and the Training, Qualification and Formation Center for the Cleaning and Conservation Sector (Cecaf). In addition to the Knowledge Areas with free content, the fair will feature Higicon Congress and the ISSA Educational Congress.

“Explosive mix of cleaning products”

ABIPLA – Brazilian Association of Household and Professional Hygiene, Cleaning and Disinfectant Products Industries will have a stand in partnership with CFQ – Federal Chemistry Council. The entities will present the game Explosive Mixture, which addresses the risks of mixing cleaning products.

In a playful way, the board game explains the importance of using only cleaning products approved and regulated by ANVISA – National Health Surveillance Agency, the need to pay attention to labels and how mixing seemingly harmless products can damage surfaces, hinder cleaning and even produce toxic gases. In one of the game’s examples, the participant is penalized for creating gaseous chloroform by mixing alcohol and bleach, two common and safe cleaning products that should not be mixed.

Window Cleaners Championship

The competition aims to promote the professional category of window cleaners and recognize the best professionals in the market. For the first time, this edition of the championship will feature separate categories for male and female cleaners. Inspired by similar competitions held in the United States and Europe, the tournament will feature three sheets of glass, each measuring 1.15×1.15, which must be perfectly cleaned in the shortest possible time during the fair.

Participants will have three chances to perform the cleaning movements, which must be done quickly and efficiently. Any details on the glass that are not cleaned will cause the participant to lose points in the tournament. The top three finishers each day will qualify for the final competition, to be held on the last day of the fair. The overall winner will represent Brazil in the World Glass Cleaners Championship.

These and other attractions aimed at the professional cleaning market will be present at the 28th Higiexpo. Registration for the fair is now open on the website Higiexpo.
