The company’s spokesman, Sergey Kupriyanov, noted that this figure is slightly higher than the previous day’s indicator.
Since the beginning of this year, pumping has remained above 40 million cubic meters per day, but on August 7 it fell below this level, to 39.4 million cubic meters, and on August 8 – to 37.3 million cubic meters, but on August 9 – it rose to 38.5 million cubic meters.
“Gazprom is pumping Russian gas through the Sudzha terminal across Ukraine to Europe, in the amount confirmed by the Ukrainian side as 39.6 million cubic meters on August 10. The Ukrainian side rejected the request to pump gas through the Sukharanovka terminal,” Kupriyanov told reporters.
Russian gas supplies through Ukraine have been in low volumes since May 2022, when the Ukrainian side announced the cessation of gas transit to Europe via the Sukharanovka terminal due to force majeure: the Ukrainian side claims that it cannot monitor the operation of the Novopskov pumping station in the Lugansk Republic. But Gazprom sees no reason to stop the pumping and not continue as before.
It is noteworthy that Ukrainian forces launched an attack on the Russian Kursk region, which borders Ukraine, since August 6, which resulted in the injury of 66 people, including 9 children, as confirmed by Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko yesterday.
The pipeline through the Sudzha station is the only route for Russian gas transit through Ukraine to Europe.
