Australia leaves Serbia trembling
Serbia has not reached the last four without difficulty. A strong Australia sold its skin dearly, but had to bow its head after one extra time: 95-90.
Especially in a crazy first half, Nikola Jokic and co. saw stars, because everything seemed to work out for Australia. Patty Mills scored with her eyes closed and guided the Australians to a maximum lead of no less than 24 points.
But in the 2nd half Serbia started its comeback. The Australian bonus was nibbled away at little by little and in the 4th quarter the Serbians had caught up. With an extension the match got some extra tension, but in the end it was Nikola Jokic who had the last word.
Jokic scored 21 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists, making him unsurprisingly the best man for the Serbians. He may face Team USA in the semi-finals, unless Brazil can pull off a huge upset.
