Change at the top: Hofer boss leaves at the end of the year

After 32 years at the food discounter Hofer, CEO Horst Leitner is retiring at the end of the year, the company announced on Thursday. His successor in Austria will be Max Hofmarksrichter on January 1, 2025. The designated CEO is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Aldi Süd group of companies in Germany.

The 53-year-old German is a member of the board of directors of Aldi Süd in Germany. He has been with the company for 25 years.

According to the information, Leitner has been CEO of the Hofer Group since December 2018, which includes Hofer Austria, Aldi Suisse, Hofer Slovenia, Aldi Hungary and Aldi Italy.

Sean Sacher, currently Managing Director of International Finance & Administration at Aldi Süd KG, will take over his responsibilities at Aldi Suisse, Hofer Slovenia, Aldi Hungary and Aldi Italy from 2025. The Australian lives in Salzburg and has worked for Aldi Süd for 15 years.
