LASK’s seventh signing in the summer transfer window is a done deal. As the OÖN previously reported, full-back Tomas Galvez is joining the athletes on loan for a year. The 19-year-old left-footer is under contract until 2028 with top English club Manchester City, for whom he recently made his professional debut under coach Pep Guardiola.
Galvez moved from Watford FC’s youth department to the “Citizens” in the summer of 2021, where he signed a professional contract in 2022. Most recently, he was part of coach Pep Guardiola’s professional squad as part of the club’s pre-season tour of the USA. There, the youngster made his professional debut in the 4-2 win against Chelsea FC in front of more than 71,000 spectators in Ohio, when he came on as a substitute at half-time.

In recent years, the London native, who also has Finnish citizenship, has played for the U18 and U21 teams. Last season, the left-back made 18 appearances in the Premier League 2, wearing the captain’s armband once. Galvez has also made 14 appearances in the UEFA Youth League.
After having already made it through all the youth national teams, the defensive player made his debut for Finland’s senior team in January 2023. Two more games for the Finnish team followed in the European Championship qualifiers and most recently in June 2024 in the friendly against Scotland. In the coming season, Galvez will strengthen LASK on loan and wear the number three jersey.
LASK sports director Radovan Vujanovic spoke of a “highly talented, young player”: “We are extremely happy that he has chosen us. The fact that he was recently able to celebrate his professional debut at Manchester City shows how much potential he has and how much the club thinks of him. With his technical qualities and his game intelligence, he can definitely help us.”
