The list of the world’s most powerful and weakest passports continues

The Henley Passport Index has released a list of the strongest and weakest passports in the world, in which the passport of Singapore is the strongest and the passport of Afghanistan is the weakest. The highest passport has been declared.

In the Henley Passport Index 2023, Singapore has overtaken Japan as the country with the most powerful passports in the world. Japan, which has been ranked number one for five times, slipped down to third place this time.

According to international media reports, in this year’s Henley Passport Index, Singapore has been named the most powerful passport in the world due to having visa-free access to 192 travel destinations.

With visa-free access to 190 countries, European countries Germany, Italy and Spain are second in the list, while Japan, Austria, Finland, France, Luxembourg, South Korea and Sweden are third.

After 6 years of relegation, the UK jumped 2 places to 4th place. The UK last came in at this number in 2017. The US has been on a downward spiral in this index for decades.

This year too, the US dropped two more places to eighth place with visa-free access to only 184 destinations.

It should be noted that in 2014, both the United Kingdom and the United States were jointly on the first position in the index.

India is ranked 80 in the list of 103 countries. 57 countries can be traveled to without a visa on an Indian passport.

Pakistan’s number is 100th in this list and after Pakistan, the last three numbers i.e. 101st, 102nd and 103rd respectively are Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan which are the weakest passports in the world.

It should be noted that the Henley Passport Index compares the visa-free access of 199 different passports to 227 travel destinations in producing this list. If a visa is not required, a score of 1 is made for that passport.
