Gothenburg came to the Tele2 Arena with a good feeling after having previously beaten Hammarby in the same arena.

After a goalless first half between Djurgården and Gothenburg, the ball landed at the feet of Thomas Santos in the 59th minute.

The winger got a really nice volley past Jacob Widell Zetterström to make it 1-0 in the match.

Santos’ goal looked like it would be the decisive goal for a long time and a real banger was in the offing.

Then Keita Kosugi hit a cross in added time that the new acquisition Adam Ståhl reached the top of – where he scored his first goal in the zoo shirt.

The match ended 1–1 and Djurgården saved a point in the pursuit of Malmö at the top of the table.

– Fallenius had to run after me and pull me because we were chasing another goal. I was about to float away, To come up and stick it in and see the heel behind it, it was unbelievable.

Was it a shame that it was an equalizer and not a 2-1 goal considering how you would have celebrated otherwise?

– Absolutely, it would have been really sexy if it was 2-1, then I would have run to my heels and maybe taken my shirt off.

Gothenburg’s result means they are one point above qualification. IFK Göteborg’s Gustaf Norlin was disappointed with two lost points for Blåvitt and stated about Djurgården’s golden battle with Malmö FF:

Is Djurgården Malmö FF threatening for the SM gold?

– It feels like Malmö can run away with it. It’s my spontaneous gut feeling. But worse things have happened in the Allsvenskan before. You never know, it’s an uncertain league, says Norlin.

The match was postponed due to bad weather

For the second week in a row for Djurgården, the start of the match was postponed after a real storm.

The rain whipped down and large leaks occurred all over the arena, including at the toilets and in the players’ corridor.

The match was then started one hour after the intended kick-off time.
