Another roundabout will be installed in Vilnius Business

Until now, traffic moving from Šatrija Ragana Street to Mileišiškių Street could not flow smoothly – the intersection is at a bend in the street, so drivers, in order to enter Mileišiškių Street, had to stop and make sure it was safe to enter. In addition, the intersection was not safe for pedestrians to cross because there were no crosswalks.

By the summer of next year, after the transformation of the intersection into a roundabout, traffic will be able to flow continuously and evenly. During the reconstruction, pedestrian paths will be fixed and two pedestrian crossings will be installed. Street lighting will increase safety at the intersection. Due to the changing geometry of the intersection, the public transport stops “Mileišiškės” will also be moved – new stops that are safer and more convenient for passengers will be installed about 100 meters east of the current location.

The reconstruction of the intersection of Šatrijos Raganas and Mileišiškių streets will be carried out by UAB “Akordas 1”. Works that will cost about 1.1 million EUR, financed by the Vilnius City Municipality and the Road Maintenance and Development Program.
