50-year-old breathes a sigh of relief after half a year in hell: People have shouted at me in the city

A 50-year-old woman from Frederikshavn can sign it.

Not least when you live in a small community.

– People have shouted at me in the city, and it has been half a year in hell, says the 50-year-old, who does not want her name mentioned, but her identity is known to the editors.

On the night of March 16, after a city trip, she was involved in some commotion on Kirkepladsen in Frederikshavn. She was subsequently reported for violence by another younger woman.

The young woman, who sustained scratches on her face, also subsequently chose to publish a post on Facebook, where she showed her injuries and in this connection also called for witnesses and the woman she believed was behind the assault.

The post was shared more than 3,000 times and the conversation quickly spread in the harbor city.

– It has been terrible for both me and my children, states the 50-year-old.

Now, however, the prosecutor’s office at Nordjyllands Police has concluded that there is no evidence to bring charges against the 50-year-old.

“It cannot be proven in a court of law that, on the basis of the episode, you will be liable to be punished for having committed violence. This means that no criminal proceedings will be brought against you”, writes North Jutland’s Police in the decision.

– I can hardly be myself with relief, and therefore I also need it to come out, says the 50-year-old.

But what actually happened?

The 50-year-old was walking out of a restaurant at night and mistakenly saw a car that was stopped and waiting.

She thought it was the taxi she had ordered.

But the car was driven by a younger man who was just waiting for his girlfriend. When the girlfriend then got into the car, the misunderstanding developed further, because the 50-year-old, who admits that she had had a lot to drink, took it to mean that the other wanted to grab the taxi from her face.

Arguing and commotion ensued.

– At one point they crowded together and I was pushed down on the asphalt, and my neck was also held, says the 50-year-old, who subsequently had marks on his neck documented by the doctor on duty.

The young woman who was later behind the report had in the meantime arrived, and the 50-year-old, who tried to get free, grabbed her scarf and then pulled her down so that she bumped her face against the asphalt.

– I was desperate and just tried to get free, explains the 50-year-old.

Nordjyske has tried to get a comment from the younger woman who reported the violent episode and who made the Facebook post. It has not been possible.
