Province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor of and People’s Party The leader of Faisal Karim Kundi says that he has not been given any task to make the provincial government life haram, but he has the right to raise questions on the performance and he will continue to use it.
In an interview during a visit to the office of Independent Urdu, he said that it is the responsibility of the governor to look after the affairs according to the constitution and law and to keep an eye on the government.
The province currently has a Tehreek-e-Insaf government led by Chief Minister Amin Gandapur and after Faisal Karim Kundi became the governor, the war of rhetoric between the two major positions in the province has apparently intensified.
“Look at my statement after taking the oath and in some subsequent interviews, I had expressed very positive feelings about the province, but it started to be taken advantage of.” I have not been given any task to ban the life of the provincial government or any person. When I have questions, I will answer them and may even ask you a question.’
He was asked how difficult or easy the post of Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is, he said that there are difficulties but they are few. ‘Deputy Speaker was the most important post so far and it was not an easy one either. Now I will try to live up to the trust as the governor. I don’t take things to heart.’
However, he admitted that there are some challenges in the province. ‘These challenges have been accepted and will be met.’
Faisal Karim Kundi belongs to a well-known political family of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He started his political career in 2003 and earlier served as Divisional Coordinator DI Khan Division of PPP.

Born in Dera Ismail Khan in 1975 and graduated from UK. He had a deep inclination towards politics and was trained by Benazir Bhutto during his stay in London. He contested from the National Assembly in the February 2008 general elections and was elected the 17th Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan on Wednesday 19 March 2008.
He holds the distinction of being the youngest ever elected Deputy Speaker at 33 years of age.

Asked the governor what is the biggest problem of the province near him, his answer without much thought was law and order. He said that my silence on this issue would be criminal. Judges are being abducted in my constituency and that of the Chief Minister, soldiers of the security forces are being martyred and there is neither an emergency meeting of the cabinet nor the apex committee in the province.
He said that in 2013, the federal government of People’s Party had given a slightly peaceful province to Tehreek-e-Insaaf. Since then he has been in government but the situation has not improved. He said that money is not being spent where it should be spent.
The Chief Minister says that there will be no operation but the law enforcers are doing three three a day. Regarding this, Governor KP said that the role of the Chief Minister is unclear since the time of his participation in the Apex Committee in Islamabad. ‘They talk one thing inside and another outside.’
Faisal Karim Kundi questioned whether the Chief Minister or a top official went to the southern districts and talked to the local people. ‘What did it here in Bannu and Parah Chanar. The local people intervened and established peace.’
Asked him that the Chief Minister has said that he will hold a rally in Islamabad with full force and if he comes here, what will be your role in such a case? Faisal Kundi said that peaceful protest is everyone’s right. “If they come to take out a leader from jail or vandalize, no one will allow it.”
He said that he is worried about the absence of first-class cricket in the province for 15 years. In this regard and regarding the regulation of cricket in Arbab Niaz Stadium, he said that he visited the sports ground and also spoke to the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Mohsin Naqvi, and he hoped that some progress would be made.
The last question to him was that whether the governor would like to leave a legacy? He said that his effort is to improve the image of the province, solve the problems of the youth, restore peace and promote tourism. “Governor House Peshawar is available for such activities.”
