English Premier League club Liverpool are planning to bring in a player with the number 6 type or a defensive midfielder to strengthen their ranks
in the middle of them before the summer transfer window closes, early September brings.
Reported by journalist David Ornstein via his official X account, Tuesday (6/8), Liverpool will look for a number 6 type figure who plays outside the English Premier League.
“Liverpool are aiming to strengthen Arne Slot’s squad by signing a new No 6 before the summer transfer window closes,” Ornstein wrote.
“LFC are pursuing a midfielder who is not currently playing in the Premier League, a position seen as a market priority at Anfield,” he added.
Liverpool is a team that has not yet shopped for players in the English Premier League.
Their coach Arne Slot when asked about player transfers said he would first look at the stock of players available during the session.
pre-season which has now ended with three wins, namely against Real Betis (1-0), Arsenal (2-1), and Manchester United (3-0).
Liverpool will host Sevilla at Anfield on Sunday (11/8) at 18.30 WIB before then a week later they will open their journey in the 2024/25 English Premier League season by facing promoted club Ipswich Town at Portman Road. (Ant/Z-1)
