Patients who want to register for follow-up consultations and chemotherapy procedures can call the pre-registration phone number 8 46 41 0000 at their convenience during the working day. After hearing the options, they must press “1”. Then the patients will be connected with operators who serve only the registration of oncology patients.
“We prepared responsibly for this stage. We separated the registration of oncology patients from the total flow of registrations. The operators of this line are consultants with experience in working with oncology patients. They are able to assess the individual situation, target the patient and register as needed. We will monitor patient satisfaction with enrollment changes and respond to their comments. We will significantly improve the system even more”, says Dr. Dr. Gintautas Virketis.
According to the doctor, if the patient is diagnosed with an oncological disease for the first time, the operator will direct him to the Green Corridor.
The case manager assigned to the patient will immediately reserve the time for the first consultation with the doctor’s specialist, register for the assigned examinations and consultations of other specialists, organize and control the execution of the implementation plan for diagnostic tests and specialist consultations drawn up for the patient, and help ensure that the treatment assigned to the patient by the multidisciplinary team of specialists starts on time.
The Green Corridor can also be contacted by the patient himself, tel. (8 46) 396621 from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. or e-mail by mail [email protected]
In cases where long-term monitoring, control or planned consultation and research are required, the operator will register in the waiting line. Registration requires shipping.
According to G. Virketis, the waiting line will facilitate access to a specialist and ensure that the patient will definitely receive a voucher in the future. You can also register for the waiting line by coming to the reception of the Outpatient-consultation Department of KUL (49 Liepojos St.).
According to Alvydas Čes, head of the Oncology Chemotherapy Department at KUL, if the patient is given active chemotherapy treatment every week or two, he himself does not need to do anything extra. All visits will be scheduled and registered, and all necessary information will be provided by the doctor or nursing administrator during the consultation.
“We aim to make registration more accessible and convenient for oncology patients. As oncology professionals, we know how a cancer diagnosis and all the events that follow change a person’s life. We hope that the implemented changes will allow us to control the ever-increasing flows of patients and increase the number of outpatient consultations. We are ready to help patients at all stages of treatment”, assures A. Česas.
According to the specialist, the number of oncological patients only increases every year. The number of newly diagnosed tumors and patients requiring monitoring is increasing. KUL doctors, oncologists and chemotherapists provide more than 50 thousand per year. consultations
