After the capture of “El Mayo”, military strengthens security in Sinaloa

The military arrived at the Culiacán International Airport in two aircraft, one from the National Guard and another from the Mexican Air Force, “in order to contribute to inhibit illegal activities of criminal groups with a presence in the aforementioned federal entity.”

Sedena added that the measure also aims to preserve and guarantee freedom, order and public peace of the inhabitants of that region of the country.

He noted that the Special Forces and Parachute Riflemen units are characterized by their speed, mobility, capacity for deployment and reaction which allows them to effectively generate and exploit intelligence products, relying on a wide variety of weapons, material, equipment, aircraft and specialized training.

He assured that the military personnel will act “firmly”carrying out tasks of deterrence, prevention, patrols, reconnaissance and establishing military security posts that generate an atmosphere of tranquility in the population.”

“El Mayo” Zambada and a son of “El Chapo” Guzmán arrested

The arrival of the military takes place in the context of the capture of “El Mayo” Zambada and Guzman Lopez occurred last Thursday near El Paso Texas, United States.
