Concarneau: the Filets Bleus festival offers concerts!

Attention, fans of Jean-Jacques Goldman. The 102nd edition of the Les Filets Bleus festival in Concarneau (Finistère) has selected the Goldman Heritage as its main attraction.

The upcoming edition will take place from Wednesday, August 7 to Sunday, August 11, 2024. Every year, the festival offers a diverse range of free concerts.

Free Concert Program

On Friday, August 9, in front of the Armor stage, Erick Benzi will revisit the world of Goldman alongside some of the most beautiful voices in French music, including Michael Jones.

On August 10, the festival will pay tribute to the great trombonist Glenn Miller, marking the 80th anniversary of the Liberation. A spectacular show will recreate the orchestra, featuring 25 artists in period costumes.

On August 11, the group Septeto Nabori will transport the audience to Cuba, blending tradition with modernity.

The Blue Nets Festival will showcase a variety of Breton and Celtic music. Acts like Breizh Asturies Project, which merges Breton and Asturian cultures with eight musicians, Lorient Celtic Brass, Dan Ar Braz Group, War-Sav 7 TET, Madelyn Ann, and Startijenn will also be featured.

Parades, Queen of the Blue Nets…

A wide range of entertainment activities are planned:

  • Headdress design workshops,
  • Embroidery and chocolate-making workshops,
  • Exhibition of old photos and artworks by artist Anh Gloux,
  • Introduction to Breton dance and language…

Big Parade on Sunday

The Sea Village will highlight the maritime activities of the port of Concarneau.

The main attraction of the festival is the grand parade where more than 2,000 musicians, dancers, and residents of the Blue City will participate.

This event requires paid admission (8 to 10 euros; free for children under 10). Tickets can be purchased at various locations.

The parade will also introduce the new queen of Les Filets Bleus, Kaitline Pochat, who was elected in March. The festival will end with a fireworks display.

Practical Information. From August 7 to 11 in Concarneau. The grand parade on Sunday requires paid admission. Prices: 8 to 10 euros; free for children under 10.

On August 11, the group Septeto Nabori will take the public to Cuba, between tradition and modernity.

The Blue Nets Festival will deliver a variety of Breton music and Celtic. Like Breizh Asturies Project, eight musicians who mix Breton and Asturian cultures. Also, with Lorient Celtic Brass, the brass and percussion classes of the music schools and conservatories of Lorient (August 8); Dan Ar Braz Group (August 8); War-Sav 7 TET (August 8); Madelyn Ann (August 10); Startijenn (August 10).
