Sport Anita Włodarczyk is competing in the Olympic Games for the fifth time. The Rawicz athlete entered the competition in the hammer throw qualifications.

The Rawicz athlete first competed at the Beijing Games in 2008. She came sixth. She brought home gold from subsequent events – from Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. In London (in 2012) she was second, but in the face of the disqualification of the gold medalist, she also received a gold medal for the event in the capital of Great Britain – after seven years.

The Rawicz athlete has a chance to win another medal in Paris. Today (04.08.2024), the 38-year-old started the hammer throw qualifications. She competed in group B. For a long time, it was not certain whether she would make it to Tuesday’s final of the games. She was in 12th place – the last place to advance. She threw the hammer at 71.06 m.

– I was definitely spinning too slowly in the circle, but I know I still have some reserve – she admitted in an interview with a Eurosport journalist. – I was very calm. I don’t know why I was so calm. The most important thing is that I qualified. The eliminations are over, now I’m focused on the final – she added.

As she admitted, she plans to meet with her family and friends who went to Paris today. The women’s hammer throw final on Tuesday (August 6), starting at 7:55 p.m. Broadcast on Eurosport and TVP.
