Steps to request a bank change and collect the IVSS pension

Collect the IVSS pension! The pensioners of the Venezuelan Social Security Institute (IVSS) can request a change of bank for the payment of their social benefits through an established process.

In Venezuela, grandparents receive 130.00 bolivars as a pension payment, an official amount granted by the National Executive which is the same as the minimum wage.

The steps to be able to change banks or banking institutions include the following:

• The application must be submitted at any of the 48 IVSS offices in the country.
• Present identity card
• Bank book (up-to-date and legible) – also serves as a bank statement.
• If you are a representative, you must present a notarized power of attorney and bring your identity card.

Collecting the IVSS pension and its rates

Survivor

This pension is granted to the spouses or close relatives (children) of a deceased worker who has paid more than 750 weekly contributions throughout his or her working life.

Requirements

• Two forms of Form 14-04.
• Copy and original of the Identity Card of those involved, the deceased insured and the applicant.
• Marriage certificate.

Birth Certificate of the children. If they are studying, they must provide proof of their studies.

Submit Form 14-08 if the child is incapacitated.

Death certificate.

Certificate of Employment under Form 14-100 in the event that a retired citizen has died.

Disability or handicap

It is provided to those people who have suffered an accident and are unable to work.

Requirements

Affidavit of having suffered an accident or illness according to Form 14-123.

Two complete forms according to Form 14-04.

Identity card.

Residual Disability Evaluation under Form 14-08.

Proof of Employment according to Form 14-100. This application will include an evaluation made by the IVSS certifying that the applicant is unable to work.

Old age

It is granted to senior citizens, especially men aged 60 and women aged 55, who have made at least 750 contributions to the country’s social security system.

Requirements

Identity card.

Two original forms for the Application for Cash Benefits under Form 14-04.

Form 14-100 or some type of employment certificate showing the last 6 years of your working life.

If the company where you work is no longer active, you must complete Form 14-205.
