“I’m just about ready to start competing. Whatever my result, I know that I’m very proud to be here, despite not being where I want to be, which is the platform,” said Valeria Angelina Antolino Pacheco, the Venezuelan diver, originally from Valera (Trujillo state), who continues to make history as a new member of the Spanish team in this aquatic discipline that is participating in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

“I’m going to give my best, as it hasn’t been an easy year, a lot of anxiety, sadness and stress after not having qualified in my dream event,” said the European champion who trained at the Trujillo Diving Club and is ready to compete in the French event this Wednesday (9:00am) in the individual springboard preliminaries.

The words of the young woman from Trujillo from France were emotional. “My family is far away, among other things, but I have also had many happy moments. I have picked myself up and moved forward thanks to them, as well as to all those who surround me and support me,” said the woman from Valencia with a certain melancholy, who has the name of Venezuela tattooed on her arm.

“I am finally here at the Olympics and on the trampoline, where I least expected it. This has been thanks to all these years of effort and a lot of sacrifice, so what I have left is to enjoy my competition, to keep working because there is still a lot ahead and a lot to do,” she said. “I am living a dream with this wonderful team,” said the enthusiastic athlete.
