Crvena Zvezda Belgrade is the most successful club in Serbia. After the country gained independence, it was the national champion 10 times. Before that, it won 19 Yugoslav championship titles and five Serbia and Montenegro championship titles.
Crvena Zvezda plays in a stadium that can hold 53,000 fans. The Belgrade team’s fans are famous for their incredibly passionate support and great shows, often with the use of pyrotechnics.
If Jagiellonia advances, the first match in the 4th round will be played at home on 20 August at 21:00, and in Belgrade, also at 21:00, but on 28 August.
Interestingly, a dozen or so years ago, fans of both teams maintained unofficial contacts. The Białystok team received an invitation from the Serbs to a tournament in Kosovo, and both groups also met at a fan tournament in Moscow. In 2010, the Jagiellonian flag appeared at the stadium in Belgrade, during the World Cup qualifiers between Serbia and Austria.
“Jaga” will face the Norwegian champions in the 3rd round on Wednesday in Białystok and six days later away. If they lose this two-legged match, they will advance to the 4th round of the Europa League qualifiers. Their opponent will be Panathinaikos Athens or Ajax Amsterdam.
The winners of the two-legged 4th round qualifiers will advance to the Champions League phase, the losers to the Europa League phase.
If Jagiellonia loses to Bodoe/Glimt and another opponent, they will play in the league phase of the Conference League.
