Maguchih and Gerashchenko fight for medals: online video broadcast of the high jump final of the 2024 Olympics

Ukraine will be represented in it by two female track and field athletes – Yaroslav Maguchih and Iryna Gerashchenko. It starts at 20:55 Kyiv time.

Both athletes made it to the finalstaking a height of 1.95 meters in the qualification.

Another Ukrainian, Yulia Levchenko, did not make it to the finals, failing to clear the bar at a height of 1.83 meters in three attempts.

Let’s add that at the beginning of July this year Maguchih broke the world record in women’s high jump. The 22-year-old track and field athlete from Dnipro was the first in history to reach a height of 2.10 meters at the Diamond League stage in Paris. Yaroslava surpassed the achievements of Bulgarian Stefka Kostadinova, who jumped 2.09 meters at the 1987 World Championships in Rome.

As of now, Ukraine has three medals in its treasury at the 2024 Olympic Games: Olga Kharlan conquered “bronze” in personal saber, as well as together with Olena Kravatska, Alina Komaschuk and Yuliya Bakastova won “gold” in the team In addition, Serhii Kulish acquired “silver” in shooting.

Another medal, at least silver, was guaranteed to Ukraine by Oleksandr Khizhnyak, who made it to the finals boxing tournament.

Ukraine is represented at the XXXIII Summer Olympics by 140 athletes who compete in 23 sports. The Games in Paris will last until August 11.
