The Director General of the national airline Fly Gabon, Nyl Moret-Mba, in remarks quoted by the online media Direct infos Gabon, has broken the boil on the excessively high cost of airline tickets in Gabon.

After revealing these bottlenecks, Nyl Moret-Mba admits: “The public is right to complain about the high price of tickets. It is also the first intention of the Head of State through the Fly Gabon project to restore the right to mobility of Gabonese people on the national territory (…) ».
“Gabonese oil is nevertheless refined here and should constitute a competitive advantage for air transport, similar to what has been done in the Gulf countries. The exact opposite has happened so far,” he laments.
Solutions
“In all these areas, we will engage in discussions with the State services, in order to succeed in reducing prices,” he promises.
“We feel a new approach from the authorities, more open to these issues,” he emphasizes.
« This will take some time because these are complex cross-cutting issues, which require government decrees. », warns the boss of the company which gives hope to the populations.
Currently, the cost of the Libreville-Port Gentil – Libreville trip is capped at 250,000 FCFA while this journey only lasts around thirty minutes.
The most overtaxed destination in Gabon is the Libreville and Franceville connection (1 hour). The round trip ticket is around 400,000 FCFA, it should be remembered. All these prices make the plane a hyper luxurious means of transport in Gabon.
