Female pilot dies after plane crashes in Niagara Falls

NEW YORK. — The pilot Melanie Georger26 years old, died on a parachuting flightafter its passengers jumped from the aircraft near the Niagara Falls.

“Melanie was a pilot, close to realising her dream of flying for an airline. She was doing what she loved, flying for a local skydiving company, when her plane crashed,” Paul Georger.

Skydiver feels “blessed”

One of the parachutists who jumped on another flight with Georger just before the one that crashed said that he felt blessed to be alive and regretted that the pilot’s life had been cut short.

He said he was not concerned about the pilot’s youth and that she communicated with him personally and shared encouraging words about her tandem skydiving partner, which boosted his confidence before he jumped.

“I gave him my support for wanting to do what he was doing,” he said. “I really feel bad for the business and the company he worked for, because they are a great company. I thought they did a great job training.”
