MEDALS – With 41 medals in the ranking this Saturday evening, the Blues are third behind China and the United States.

Five medals including one gold. After eight days of competition, the French delegation has 41 medals including 12 gold. As mentioned Friday evening, the total from Tokyo was pulverized (33 medals). The total from Beijing 2008 should follow (43 medals). In the ranking, the Blues (41: 12 Gold, 14 Silver, 15 Bronze) have however fallen back one place and are third. China remains ahead (37: 16 Gold, 12 Silver, 9 Bronze), the United States takes second place (61: 14 Gold, 24 Silver, 23 Bronze).

Only one gold medal on Saturday. We had gotten used to better on Friday, but the Olympic gold brought by the mixed judo team got the crowds on their feet thanks in particular to Teddy Riner’s last fight, ultra-decisive. Road cycling was also there with two medals. The first in silver for Valentin Madouas, and the second in bronze for Cristophe Laporte. The rest was a silver medal for Camille Jedrzejewski in shooting and a bronze medal for Lisa Barbelin in archery, after a Dantesque scenario.
