The committee decided by a majority that the relevant request is unconstitutional, as a judicial official can only be summoned for matters of the operation of the Institutions and the strengthening of transparency and not for the control of judicial decisions.
Also, the committee will not request the opinion of the Supreme Court, as it considers that it is against the rules of the Code of Criminal Procedure, as there is an open criminal trial.
The opposition parties – knowing that they do not have a majority – caused tension, mainly Zoi Konstantopoulou, during the session and sometimes they went beyond the logic of parliamentary activism by denouncing an attempt to cover up the case. At the beginning of the meeting there was a political confrontation on the procedure with Mrs. Konstantopoulou asking for sufficient time to position the parties and the president of the Commission, Thanasis Boura trying to coordinate the discussion.
