On Friday, the politically motivated organization Voluntad Popular reported that leader Roland Carreño was arrested by state security forces.
This information was echoed by the National Union of Journalists and leaders of various political parties.
The Venezuelan journalist, who has been detained since 2020, was released in October 2023, along with other detained politicians accused of terrorism.
On October 18, the following were also released: Juan Requesens, a former deputy who was under house arrest; Marco Antonio Garcés Carapaica, Eurinel Rincón and Mariana Barreto.
His release last year came after the opposition and the government of Nicolás Maduro signed a comprehensive political agreement detailing political guarantees for the 2024 presidential elections.
