Trump attacks Georgia’s Republican governor

Trump first attacked Gov. Brian Kemp on his social media platform Truth Social before a rally in the Georgia capital, Atlanta, on Saturday.

He also criticized Kemp’s wife Marty, who has said she will not vote for Trump for president and instead write her husband’s name on the ballot.

In his speech at the election rally, Trump took ten minutes to fire at Kemp. He accused him of being responsible for him losing to Joe Biden, and for not having stopped the attorney general who opened a case against him to try to overturn the election.

– He is an ugly guy, a disloyal guy, and a very mediocre governor. Little Brian, little Brian Kemp, an ugly fellow, he said.

After the 2020 election, Trump called state Republican Returning Officer Brad Raffenberger to demand that he “find” 11,779 votes he needed to win the state in the 2020 election. But both Kemp and Raffenberger rejected Trump’s attempt to overturn the election.

Georgia is considered one of the swing states in the autumn election, and both candidates are betting hard. The new wave of enthusiasm for Harris means that the Democrats see new hope of winning the state.

However, Trump will need the support of Kemp and his staff, as well as moderate Republicans, if he is to win Georgia.
