Open Skies: Paraguay and Argentina agreed to free up routes, eliminate flight limits and include traffic rights

Asuncion, IP Agency.- Paraguay and Argentina, through the president of the National Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (DINAC), Nelson Mendoza Rolón, and the Secretary of Air Transport of the Argentine Nation, Franco Mogetta, signed a Memorandum of Understanding for immediate application. They agreed to free up routes, eliminate the limit on flights, and include traffic rights up to the 9th freedom of the air.

The signing of this instrument took place at the San Martín Palace in the city of Buenos Aires, in addition to finalizing the draft of the new Agreement on Air Services.

With the signing of the Memorandum, Argentine and Paraguayan airlines will be able to freely determine the number of flight frequencies, both for passengers and cargo.

The measure provides greater flexibility in planning operations, which could translate into an increase in the range of services, new routes, and greater competition on routes connecting Paraguay and Argentina.

During the event, the president of DINAC highlighted this instrument, as well as the Investment Grade achieved by Paraguay, constituting these tools favorable for the Aeronautical development of our country.

Present at the event were the Minister of Tourism Angie Duarte, Ambassador Helena Felip, the Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sport, Daniel Scioli, of Argentina, as well as other important authorities from both countries.
