ONDC’s monthly transaction volume exceeded 12 million in July

India’s Open Digital Commerce Network (ONDC) said on Monday that its monthly transactions reached 12 million in July, with 430,000 orders per day. The network has a 3% market share in the food and beverage delivery sector, and consists of more than 638,000 sellers and service providers, with a business scope covering more than 609 cities in India and a delivery range covering 1,200 cities in India.

“Of the total orders in July, 4.4 million were from the mobile sector. The remaining 7.6 million orders were from the non-mobile sector. The non-mobile food and beverage category accounted for 1.7 million orders, while grocery orders accounted for 1.4 million. The fashion sector accounted for 0.6 million orders, while the remaining 4 million orders were from online logistics, beauty and personal care, home and kitchen, and retail vouchers,” the statement said.

The network claims that in the food and beverages category, it has captured 18% market share in Bengaluru and 3% market share across the country, indicating strong performance in key markets. “In July, the network also launched the Auto Parts and Accessories category with sellers such as Ess Aay Automotive (Hero Genuine),” it added.

The network currently covers 10 sectors with 108 active network participants and will launch the ‘Swantantra’ promotion this month.
