National cricketer Fakhar Zaman has been given the rank of Honorary Lieutenant of Pakistan Navy

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi assigned the rank of Honorary Lieutenant of Pakistan Navy to national cricketer Fakhar Zaman.

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi has assigned the rank of Honorary Lieutenant to the famous cricketer Fakhar Zaman Kopak on the basis of his excellent performance in the field of cricket and his commitment to the Pakistan Navy.

It should be noted that Fakhar Zaman has served in the Pakistan Navy, he joined the Operations Branch of the Pakistan Navy in 2007 as a sailor, his dedication to cricket and immense talent were appreciated early in his service.

Fakhrzaman represented Pakistan Navy in many competitions and won many honors for Pakistan Navy. The opener also played his first international match in 2012 from the platform of Pakistan Navy and was the captain of the tournament in the International Defense Cricket Challenge Cup 2012 held in Australia. Won the best player award.

Military and civil officials, PCB officials, former cricketers and Fakhr Zaman’s family members participated in the honorary rank conferment ceremony.

Fakhar Zaman was also awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee on the basis of superior performance.

Pakistan Navy seeing Fakhar Zaman’s exceptional talent and passion for cricket gave him an opportunity to further his career in cricket and become a part of Pakistan’s national cricket team. His major achievements in his cricket career include scoring a match-winning century against India in the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017, which also earned him the ‘Man of the Match’ award.

Apart from this, in 2018 he also scored the fastest 1000 runs in just 18 matches, in 2018 he became the first Pakistani to score a double century in an ODI match and he set a record for scoring an opening partnership of 304 runs.

Earlier, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi while addressing the ceremony congratulated Honorary Lieutenant Fakhr Zaman for receiving the honors for Pakistan Cricket.

He said that Pakistan Navy is providing support in the promotion of many sports including squash, sailing, hockey, football and has produced many athletes who have won honors for Pakistan. It will continue to play its role in the promotion of sports at the international level.
