Panna Ugrai (Hód Úszó SE) and Pádár Nikolett competed as members of the women’s 4×200 meter relay on Thursday’s competition day of the Paris Olympics. This was the last number of both girls at the five-hoop games, after they first competed in the 4×100 meter relay, and then Pádár Nikolette was disqualified in the heat of the 200 meter freestyle due to a bad move.
Panna Ugrai struggled a lot at the end, but brought the Hungarian team to the Olympics in second place in the preliminaries of the 4×200 meter relay.

Nikolett Pádár was the opening man, who kept the pace with the Australians and finally handed over the team to Minna Ábrahám in second place, who also held the second place of the Hungarian team in the 400 meters. Ajna Késely came third, and even after 600 meters, the Hungarian team was in second place, and Panna Ugrai followed as the finisher.
The Hód Úszó SE athlete was able to successfully repulse the Chinese’s attempt to close, and in the end brought the Hungarian team into second place – the race was won by Australia, and the time of 7:52.25 from the Hungarian relay team means that the girls came in with the second best time to the final.
– I came out of my room, but it was very difficult for me to process the fact that I was excluded from the Olympic preliminaries, and besides, I would have made it further. I pulled myself together, a lot of people helped me, and I thought that I would still swim for the girls – Nikolett Pádár told MTI after the race.
– The girls came very well, and I was like, this can’t be spoiled anymore. This was actually my main test, I’m glad I got the opportunity to prove myself, which I think I succeeded. I hope that in the future this will become an even more common relay – Panna Ugrai said.
The final of the number will be held today from 22.03 at the Paris Olympics.
