Bears invaded a sheepfold located in the community of Vogatsikos of the Municipality of Argos Orestikos, in the late hours of Friday, August 2, 2024, killing eight sheep and causing enormous damage.
The bears attacked the sheep in a frenzy, devouring eight of them and causing massive damage to the flock.
The owner was faced with a disgusting sight, as only three of his sheep and three of his lambs managed to escape the bear attack. Outraged, he found early on Saturday morning the great damage he had suffered and, according to him, only four of the eight dead sheep were found in the fold.
The breeder turned to “Arkturos” to report the incident, from where he was referred to the Forest Service of Kastoria and ELGA to be compensated.
