After the recent video statement of former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf, actress Mehwish Hayat has expressed sympathy and supported his stand.
Mehwish Hayat shared the video of Pervez Musharraf on the social networking site Twitter and said in one of his messages that ‘put politics aside for a moment. This man was our president who guided us through all the difficult times. Whether we like them or hate them, but they have the right to speak in their own defense, at least we can give them that respect.

The actress further said that the law does not declare any criminal innocent until proven guilty.

Mehwish Hayat wrote that ‘No one is above the law, I am only saying that they should at least be given a chance to be heard.’

It should be remembered that Pervez Musharraf, who was undergoing treatment in a hospital in Dubai, said in his video statement that my lawyer Salman Safdar is not being heard in the court, I am not being heard.
N also said that the demand of justice is not being fulfilled, we are being abused. At least the commission should be heard, hopefully I will get justice from the court. The treason case against me is baseless.
