A COMPANY that provides testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) services, PT Mutuagung Lestari Tbk (Mutu International), visited Weiyel Laboratory in China on Thursday (1/8). The activity was carried out in order to target potential business development.

“We are currently reviewing the possibilities of collaboration in the field of Certified Reference Material (CRM),” said Mutu International Operations Director Irham Budiman on the sidelines of his visit.

Certified Reference Material (CRM) is a material or substance used as a reference in equipment calibration, method validation, and quality assurance of laboratory analysis. The CRM market is increasingly showing significant growth with the global CRM market value reaching USD1.74 billion in 2022. This value is projected to continue to increase until 2030 and reach USD2.72 billion. In line with the increasing potential in the global market, this growth is also quite significant in Indonesia.

Mutu International, as a company that also operates in the laboratory sector and has a strong environmental testing base, is exploring strategic potential with Weiyel Group.

“Weiyel is a leading company in the CRM field from China. We are exploring potentials that will eventually aim to strengthen the provision of CRM in Indonesia and also the potential to make Indonesia a production base to meet global needs,” said Irham.

Mutu International remains committed to supporting the growth of the laboratory industry in Indonesia, therefore the company seeks various opportunities to develop the local industry through technology transfer and increasing production capacity.

“By trying to expand access to high-quality CRM, Mutu International hopes to create an ecosystem that supports innovation and sustainable growth in the testing and calibration sector in Indonesia,” concluded Irham. (Z-6)
