Alex Rins Extends Contract with Yamaha Until 2026 – 2024-08-04 06:19:59

RACER Alex Rins has officially extended his contract with the Yamaha factory team to compete in the MotoGP World Championship for two more seasons.

“We have a clear goal, to bring Yamaha to where it should be, which is fighting in the championship,” said Rins, quoted from Yamaha’s official statement, Friday (2/8).

Rins further said that he and the team share the same passion and hard work to achieve the goal. He also admitted that he is optimistic that his team can slowly return to being competitive in this premier racing class.

“Thanks to our hard work, we have made some important steps this season in that direction, and we want to continue in the following years,” said Rins.

“I’m excited to continue bringing my MotoGP experience and work ethic to a team that has proven to work hard together and will continue to do so,” he added.

On the other hand, Yamaha considers the Spanish rider to have a lot of experience in the MotoGP paddock and has achieved many victories in a number of racing classes, including 18 MotoGP victories.

In addition, Rins is also considered to have an extraordinary work ethic and attention to detail, which makes Yamaha completely confident in their partnership with the 28-year-old rider.

Rins’ extensive experience has proven invaluable in 2024 and retaining him as part of the project is an important element in Yamaha’s multi-year plan where motorcycle development is a top priority.

“Alex’s two-year contract is an important part of our plans for the MotoGP project. Alex is not only a very talented and fast rider, but he is also technically intelligent, hard-working and a true team player,” said Yamaha Motor Racing Managing Director Lin Jarvis.

“The collaboration between Alex and Fabio (Quartararo) gives Yamaha the confidence that together they can strengthen the motorcycle development project,” he concluded. (Ant/Z-1)
