The candidate of the Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD), Edmundo González Urrutia, went this afternoon to cast his vote at the Santo Tomás de Villanueva school, in the Baruta municipality of Caracas and from there he assured that “Today begins the day of reconciliation for all Venezuelans.”
“The only important news is the millions of Venezuelans exercising their right to decide. To all Venezuelans around the world: we feel your effort and commitment and it encourages us. We are one people in search of our freedom.”he said in a statement he read, before answering questions from the press.
The candidate added: “We trust that the Armed Forces will respect the will of the people.”
“We do not want more Venezuelans leaving the country, and for those who have left, we will do everything possible to welcome them here. We will change hatred for love, poverty for progress, corruption for truth. The time has come for change and reconciliation.”he pointed.
He said that the process was going very well and that they are prepared for the next phases, because there are witnesses at all the tables. “the defense of the vote will be done rigorously”he assured.
