Tragic incident on Saturday afternoon (03.08.2024) on the island of Dia, north of Heraklion. A 50-year-old German man was recovered unconscious after diving into the sea.
According to the information of cretalive, cretapost.gr and patris.gr, the 50-year-old German who was in the sea area of Dias island, probably on a sailboat, seems to have lost consciousness after attempting to dive from the boat.
But a few minutes after the dive, according to police sources, his wife saw him motionless in the sea and became concerned.
The 50-year-old man was face down, the coast guard was immediately notified, he was brought to shore unconscious, CPR was performed on him, but unfortunately the unfortunate man had ended up dead.
