Cult series “Braunschlag” is likely to get a second season

This was reported by the industry medium “Spot”. When asked, the ORF confirmed that the books for a possible sequel are currently being worked on. The production company Superfilm is also on board. Producer John Lueftner told the “Presse” that he is working on the script together with David Schalko.

The two main actors from the first season, Robert Palfrader and Nicholas Ofczarek, are also involved. Regarding the plot, Lueftner revealed that the radioactive radiation that forced people to flee in the “Braunschlag” finale has now dropped so far that the fictional town in the Waldviertel can be repopulated.

Marian apparition to save budget

In the first season, Palfrader, as mayor Gerri Tschach, together with Ofczarek, as disco operator Richard Pfeisinger, invented an apparition of the Virgin Mary to help the town out of the red.
