The General Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party, Kaesang Pangarep, said that President Joko Widodo’s apology delivered at the National Dhikr and Prayer event, Thursday (1/8) evening, was a humane thing to do.
“I think it is humane to apologize to the Indonesian people, especially since he is retiring after this,” said Kaesang when met by reporters after his party’s activities in South Jakarta, Friday.
President Jokowi’s youngest son also said that there are no perfect humans in this world.
“I think that as a president, he is definitely not perfect. There is no living creature in this world that is perfect, there must be some who make mistakes,” said Kaesang.
Previously, President Jokowi apologized for all mistakes and errors in carrying out his mandate as President of the Republic of Indonesia. He expressed this during the Dhikr and National Prayer event at the Merdeka Palace yard, Jakarta, Thursday (1/8) night.
In his remarks, President Jokowi also apologized on behalf of Vice President Ma’ruf Amin in front of thousands of guests at the opening event that began a series of Independence Month activities ahead of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.

“Mr. Vice President, ladies and gentlemen, fellow countrymen and women, on this auspicious occasion, on the first day of the month of Independence, August, with all sincerity and humility, allow me and Professor Kiai Haji Ma’ruf Amin to apologize profusely for all our mistakes and errors so far, especially while we both carry out our mandate as President of the Republic of Indonesia and as Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia,” said President Jokowi.
The President realized that as humans, he and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin could not possibly please everyone. The Head of State and Vice President expressed that both of them could not possibly meet the expectations of all parties.
“I am not perfect, I am an ordinary human being, that perfection belongs only to Allah SWT. Only to Allah belongs the kingdom of heaven and earth and whatever is in it. He is Almighty over everything,” said President Jokowi.
