The PTA has demanded immediate removal of content based on immoral, obscene, nudity and hate speech from Tik Tok. Remember, 2 days ago YouTube was also given a similar warning.

In this regard, the statement issued by the PTA said that considering the growing concerns in the society regarding the content on Tik Tok, an online meeting was held between the Chairman PTA and the senior management of Tik Tok.

Acknowledging the video sharing platform’s recent efforts to remove indecent content, Chairman PTA called on Tik Tok to adopt strong and moderate content monitoring mechanisms so that Pakistan Unable to access illegal content.

Earlier last month, the PTA had issued a final warning to the video app after receiving several complaints from various sections of the society regarding obscene and immoral content on Tik Tok and its extremely negative impact on the youth generation. .

After which the statement issued by Tik Tok in response to the final notice said that the top priority of the app management is to keep the internal environment of the app safe and positive through compliance with the law.

The statement cited TikTok’s July-December 2019 report as saying that 84 percent of inappropriate videos removed last year were videos that no one had watched.

The statement claimed that 3,728,162 inappropriate videos uploaded by users in Pakistan were also blocked from airing during the same period.

On the other hand, a separate petition was filed in the Lahore High Court last month for the ban on Tik Tok, in which the video application was described as a great temptation of the modern age, saying that it is a huge threat to ratings and popularity on social media. Therefore, pornography is also becoming a means of spreading.

Note that Tik Tok is a Chinese social networking application that allows users to create video clips, lip sync to songs and make short videos.

Popular video sharing application Tik Tok is very popular in many countries of the world including Pakistan and people of all ages keep uploading their videos on it.

However, there have been many tragic incidents related to videos on this app, in which many lives have been lost due to being hit by a train or shot while making a Tik Tok video.

It should be noted here that the PTA had banned the popular game PubG and Bego app among the youth, which had sparked strong reactions from the youth and some social media personalities.

Later, the PTA lifted the ban on PUBG and Bego after assurances from both.
