Reinforcement from Brazil: Dodo Sampaio signed with Hapoel Tel Aviv

Just before the opening whistle of its first official match for the 2024/25 season, in the Toto Cup against Hapoel Kfar Shalem, tonight (Thursday) Hapoel Tel Aviv signed a new foreign midfielder: Brazilian Dodo Sampaio. The 25-year-old attacking midfielder signed for one season with an option for another season and is already in Bloomfield to see his new friends.

After the signing, his uncle said: “I am very happy for the opportunity given to me to play in a big club in Israel, with amazing fans and an impressive history, I am here to give my all and I am sure we will have a great season and achieve our goals.”

The 25-year-old Sampaio comes to Israel from North Macedonia, where he played last season in a transparent uniform from the top league. He scored three goals and assisted another six in 28 league games and also contributed a goal and an assist in four appearances as part of the Conference League qualifiers.

He started his adult career in Brazil and played several years in his homeland, when his path began with 11 minutes in the senior league in Vasco da Gama’s uniform. In the 2022/23 season, he went to Europe for the first time and played for Gloria Buzau of the Romanian second league, where he made 21 appearances in all formats, scored three goals and assisted five more.
