The funeral of a journalist from the news channel “Al Jazeera” was held in the Gaza Strip

The body of Samer Abu Daqq, wearing a bulletproof vest and helmet, was carried through the crowd in Khan Yunis and buried in a grave dug by other journalists.

His mother, Umm Maher Abu Daqqa (Um Maher Abu Daqqa), accused Israel of attacking journalists, especially those working for Al Jazeera.

Al Jazeera reported on Friday that the channel said Israel was responsible for the persecution of journalists and their families in the Gaza Strip.

“When Samer was wounded, he bled to death for more than five hours as Israeli forces prevented ambulances and rescuers from reaching him, preventing much-needed emergency care,” according to a report by Al Jazeera.

According to the Committee to Protect Journalists, more than 60 journalists and media workers have been killed since the start of the war.

The war began after Hamas launched an unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7, which Jewish state officials say killed about 1,200 people. people, mostly civilians.
