GTA 6 fans can breathe a sigh of relief: Rockstar confirms fall 2025 as release period
Fans of GTA 6 can breathe easy, as Rockstar Games’ parent company Take-Two has just confirmed that the highly anticipated title will launch in fall 2025 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Although the exact date has not yet been set, the rumored trailer 2 expected to drop on October 4 may shed more light on Rockstar’s precise plans.
Despite Take-Two’s confidence that GTA 6 will not be delayed, there have been recent concerns in the community. The reason? The Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) is planning a strike of video game voice actors, which could significantly impact the release of several major projects. Particularly concerning: Take-Two is among the companies targeted by SAG-AFTRA.

Statement
In a statement to Kotaku, a spokesperson for the Screen Actors Guild said: “Although the game is not directly affected, it is produced by a company that is on strike. If you are engaged on a daily basis for this game, you can show solidarity with your union colleagues by not signing new contracts for the game.
“However, you can still work on the game without fearing disciplinary action.”
With the release still more than a year away, there is time for possible changes, but currently it looks as though GTA 6 is still aiming for a release date in fall 2025.
With a massive number of characters and not least in-game radio productions, Rockstar Games will need to hire a lot of actors for the final product.
For the moment, however, fans of Grand Theft Auto 6 can relax and breathe easy.
