The Indonesian Rock Climbing Federation (FTPI) has set a target of winning gold medals for its athletes participating in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Indonesia has four athletes who will compete in the 2024 Olympics. They are Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi, Rahmad Adi Mulyono, Veddriq Leonardo, and Salsabilah Rajiah.

FPTI General Chair Yenny Wahid said that her party had set a target for its athletes participating in the Olympics this time.

“We are targeting to win two medals, one of which is gold,” said Yenny when contacted, Friday (2/8).

The target, Yenny continued, is considered reasonable because her party has supported the athletes as much as possible. “We provide constant assistance based on the sports science method,” she said.

“Daily physical training, a team of doctors on standby, mental support through psychologists, as well as prize incentives when winning tickets to the Olympics, and being given free time, we do it all,” he added.

Yenny also said that the rock climbing athletes had arrived in Paris to make a number of preparations.

“It’s summer in Paris and the weather is hot and dry, and there’s the time difference, so the kids have to be there a few days before the game so their bodies can get used to it. It’s true that the costs are higher, but this is part of our commitment to advancing Indonesian rock climbing,” he concluded. (Z-6)
