Brazil had more than 39 thousand card information stolen, says research

O Brazil and the second most affected country in the world as theft of payment cards. The information comes from NordVPN, which also showed crime figures across the planet and revealed that more than 600,000 cards had their data compromised, with it being sold on the dark web.

Of this number, it is worth highlighting that 39 mil occurred on Brazilian soil and the situation is only worse than that of the United States, which had 73 thousand pieces of information stolen from this type of item. India completes the podium of the negative scenario, with more than 35 thousand cases of stolen card data.

How does card data theft occur?

According to NordVPN, the crime begins with malware, which is installed via phishing emails, messages that try to trick victims into giving them confidential information. Once installed, the malicious program can access the device and collect sensitive data.
