Official Gazette No. 75 Ordinary of 2024 publishes various resolutions related to the Operations Regulations of different Nautical Bases in Cuba.

Functions of the management of the Nautical Base

The management of each Nautical Base assumes legal representation of the same, being responsible for its operation, management and administration.

Its responsibilities include the organization of the port’s administrative services, the regulation of services, the management of the port and its services, the implementation of the Disaster Reduction Plan and Contingency Plan, and the request for collaboration from the competent authorities.

The Central State Administration bodies involved in compliance with the established regulations maintain relations of coordination and cooperation with the authorities of the nautical bases. This guarantees proper functioning and integrated management of operations at each nautical base.

Specific provisions and purposes

Each regulation includes a special provision establishing that the commercial relations of the nautical base operators must comply with the requirements set out in the regulation, within a period of ninety calendar days from the entry into force of the resolution.

  • Public port authorities: Representations at the nautical base such as the Harbor Master’s Office, International Health Control, Customs, etc.

  • Berthing contract: Document that formalizes the permanence of a vessel at the nautical base.
  • Hazardous waste: Substances or articles that represent a danger to the environment and human health.
  • Clearance: Administrative procedure to formalize the entry and exit of a vessel.
