There will be a zero tolerance policy on statements against the Chief Justice, FIR and arrest will also be made, Law Minister – Pakistan

Exceeding the limit will not be allowed under the guise of human rights or freedom of opinion, there will be a zero tolerance policy on statements against the Chief Justice, the Law Minister gave a clear message. He said that no one has the right to issue a fatwa against the life of a judge on a judicial decision.

Speaking at the legal education agreement ceremony between Pakistan Bar and HEC, Prime Minister Nazir Tarar said that the practice of issuing fatwa and creating a state within a state should be condemned by all. Fatwa against Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa is a crime.

He said that there is a limit to everything, there will be a zero tolerance policy of the state on the statement against the Chief Justice of Pakistan, an FIR has been registered for the violation, now arrests will also be made.

The Minister of Law said that such content should be included in the educational curriculum that will end intolerance, Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa is a good name and a principled person, no one has the right to issue a fatwa against the life of a judge on a judicial decision.

The Law Minister further said that after the war in Afghanistan, many problems including terrorism have come in the society, it is very important to improve the quality of legal education.
