HALSEY, 29, posted on Tumblr on July 30 expressing her feelings about fans being negative following her return to music and making her “regret coming back.”

“My own fans have been meaner to me than anyone else on the planet. Of course, I don’t speak for all of you,” Halsey wrote.

“But it used to be a minority who were mean to me, and now it seems like the majority just stick around to occasionally voice their opinions about how much they hate me or how terrible I am.”

The musician, who uses she/they pronouns, added that it’s difficult “to want to engage in a space that is completely devoid of kindness, compassion, patience; or frankly, human decency. Especially after years of avoiding interactions for fear of THIS happening.”

“I don’t know. I almost lost my life,” continued Halsey, who recently announced she was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder.

“I will never do anything that doesn’t make me happy again. I’m spiritually incapable of doing it,” the “Graveyard” hitmaker wrote.

Halsey later reflected, “When I was sick, all I could think about was getting better so I could come back and be a part of THIS again, but I don’t even know what this is anymore and I want to crawl into a hole and I regret coming back.”

In a follow-up post, the New Jersey native informed fans that she was on her way to a “PET scan” and “uploaded” a “stripped” version of her latest single, “Lucky,” while writing the Tumblr post.

“Because this is the crazy irony that has become my life,” Halsey wrote. “I am a human being. Not a character in a music video.”

“Lucky” was released last week along with a music video, marking the second single from the musician’s upcoming album following “The End,” which was released in June.

Halsey informed fans about her diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus and T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder shortly after releasing “The End.”

“In 2022, I was first diagnosed with Lupus SLE and then a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder. Both are currently being managed or in remission; and both will likely be with me for the rest of my life,” she said at the time.

“After 2 years, I feel better and more grateful than ever to have music to escape to,” Halsey added. “I can’t wait to get back to where I belong: With all of you singing and screaming my heart out.” (People/Z-3)
