Sandra Martínez, aunt of Maximiliano Rodríguez Guerra, one of those arrested in the protests in Maracay, Aragua state, was also present.

“My nephew was arrested on July 30, they tortured him. The little we know is that he has had three seizures and they are charging him with charges that he did not commit. We don’t know anything else about him, I know he is in Maracay, but not specifically the command where they have him,” said Martínez in an interview with Venezuelan journalist Claraynes Van Strahlen for The newspaper.

The protesters also called on the Organization of American States (OAS), the Inter-American Criminal Court (ICC) and the United Nations (UN) to intervene in the situation that the country is going through “to safeguard the sovereign will of the people of Venezuela.”
